Mélia Martin is a Québec-born singer-songwriter, flutist and producer blending intimate vocals, reflective songwriting, indie-folk roots and electronic textures. Through her interdisciplinary approach, she creates timeless worlds where music, poetry and sound design meet.

Mélia is a 19-year-old musician from Chelsea, Québec. Classically trained in flute at the Québec Music Conservatory, she also plays multiple instruments and draws inspiration from a wide range of styles, from indie-folk to electronic music. She writes, produces and performs music. She is currently a student at Berklee College of Music, with the dream to be an interdisciplinary artsit and an innovator in the music industry.

 

Mélia’s goal is to make the flute a unique and expressive voice across all of her creative projects throughout her musical career.

For Mélia Martin, it was always about bringing change into the world. It just didn't feel like music could do that at first. Until it did. Since then, it's only been about getting there.

 

Today, Mélia is channeling everything she loves into her most personal project yet. A self-produced debut EP alongside a sister collection of original poetry. Through reflective songwriting, intimate vocals and a unique blend of indie folk and electronic textures, she creates music where every element has a purpose. Her flute, the instrument that first brought her into music, continues to have a voice in every project, becoming another way to express emotions beyond words. She writes, records and produces her own music, building a world where songwriting, production, sound design and storytelling all belong together. Her music draws inspiration from artists like The Beatles, Bon Iver, Elliott Smith and Daft Punk, while remaining deeply rooted in her own francophone identity and looking up to her Québec heroes such as Harmonium, Céline Dion and Karim Ouellet.

 

That vision was years in the making. Mélia first discovered music through the flute, joining the Conservatoire de musique de Gatineau at ten years old. Years of classical training taught her discipline, gave her a foundation and a love for performing. Around the same time, dance became an equally important part of her artistic development, shaping the way she experiences music both on and off stage.

At fifteen, she discovered music production, and everything shifted. What started as curiosity quickly became an obsession. Songwriting, production, sound design and performance no longer felt like separate worlds. They became different ways of telling the same story. Around that same time, she discovered Berklee College of Music, and suddenly, the dreams felt endless.

 

After receiving the Governor General's Academic Medal and completing her Preparatory Studies diploma at the Conservatoire, Mélia spent a year studying Interdisciplinary Arts at the University of Ottawa, where she won the UOTalent Show in 2025. She now studies Professional Music at Berklee College of Music in Boston. Alongside developing her own artistry, she has performed as a flutist in Berklee's Signature Concert series, including productions celebrating Coldplay and P!nk.

Today, her goals have never been clearer.

In a world where so much feels transient and ephemeral, Mélia believes there is still a desire to go back to creating things that feel precious. Innovative, genre bending, timeless music is one of them. She's playing the long game. It is not about overnight success, mainstream recognition or Hollywood afterparties. It is about creating timeless works of art.

Mélia wants to be an innovator in the industry. It's about working with the big names, being in the room where it happens, and continuing to push the boundaries of what music can be. Above all, she wants to create work that lasts.
